Normally an article like this would make me crazy....
I guess I have realized that some people will just never get it.
Why does everything include food, especially at school? Isn't the easiest solution to have food free parties. Then, outside of school, the birthday child can have their treats at their own party.

I don't know why it's so hard to just not have classroom parties with food. There are plenty of other things a child should be doing throughout the day.
ReplyDeleteThis woman doesn't get it. She wants her kids to have homemade treats, that's great. But what happens when some other well-intentioned mother forgets that nuts aren't allowed... and tragedy strikes.
The thing that gets me is that at the beginning of the article she even states that she knew a kid who died when they were in school. DIED. I am baffled at that level of insensitivity.
It is an uphill battle, and I'm sorry for every shred of opposition you guys face.
