Dear all of us,
I'm not sure how March got here so fast and now it's half over. The 31st will be here before we know it.
On March 31,2009 my life almost took a tragic turn. My youngest ate walnuts that day and she could have died. I won't go into all of the details because on some days it's too much to talk about.
Almost 6 years later I do my best to keep March 31 as a positive day. It's the day she didn't leave us.
That's something to celebrate!

Finding focus
Dear all of us,
Do you have a problem focusing? I have so many ideas in my head of creative endeavors that I don't even know where to start.
I want to blog.
I want to blog about photography.
I want to blog about Montessori Education.
I want to blog about everyday life events.
I want to blog about food allergies.
I want to write a book(no focus there, I just want to do it).
I want to spend my time taking pictures.
I don't even know where to start so I do nothing….

Pure joy
Pure joy is seeing your child experiencing pure joy.
My youngest was in her first play last night and it was amazing. She had the biggest smile on her face the whole time.
Pure joy.
Last year she didn't want to try out for the play because she was too afraid to audition. This year she worked past the fear, tried out, got a part and now she's calling herself the "superstar".

A new start and a mini rant
I have decided to do something for myself and that means I have started up with photography again and I have started a blog just for my pictures.
http://picturesbyrandi.blogspot.com
I will still be hear ranting and raving about stuff I am sure.
I could go on and on about our public school system. Trust me, I love teachers. I shouldn't say that I will rant and rave about the public school system. I should say I will rant about the amount of homework that kids get in the 4th grade. It's insane……..
Do you have kids that have too much homework?

It's been a while
Dear All of Us,
Well, obviously it's been a while since I have been here. So sorry!
I'm back!
I have been spending time figuring out what I want to do. I do that a lot.
I have taken up yoga and I love it!
I have also started back with photography. I love taking photos, especially in nature.

Disillusioned
Dear all of us,
I'm just feeling down today. There were so many stories about violence in the news yesterday and I woke up to more awful news today. I'm getting to the point where I don't want my kids to leave my side.
There was a killing spree in PA yesterday.
That gunman ran and was spotted in another area of PA, that area was on high alert for hours.
Two local high schools had violent threats made against them.
Over 100 kids were killed at a school in Pakistan.
All of this right around the second anniversary of Sandy Hook.
I believe that Americans have the right to bear arms.
I also believe that there should be strict gun laws in place.
Above all I believe that as Americans we need to step up our work in the area of mental health. We are the greatest country in the world and we are failing our citizens and our children.
When will a change take place?

Stop waiting for someone else.
Dear all of us,
What do you do when you recognize that there is a problem that needs to be fixed? Do you sit by? Do you hope someone else will take care of it?
Or do you get up and do something about it?
I have a question today. Well, I have questions everyday….. I should rephrase that. I have many questions today.
If you see something that you think is wrong, do you do something about it? If there is some injustice going on, do you let it continue or so you speak up?
If you let it continue-
Why do you let it continue? If you see something is not right, how do you sit by and not try to change things for the better? What will it take for you to get involved?
If you get involved-
Why did you get involved? What motivated you to put away your fears or your worries? What made you get off the couch, get out from behind the screen to actually get up and get involved?
If you see something that you think is unjust, don't just sit there! Get up!
You might say-"Well, that's easy for her to say!"
Well, no it's not! It is so hard for me to be confrontational. I am an introvert. I am shy. I am not confrontational.
However, the older that I get, the more I can not just sit by and watch things happen. If I feel that something is unfair, I am going to speak up. I am going to speak up for those that can not speak up for themselves. Namely, children.
We are the best advocates that a child can have. They need someone to be their voice when no one will listen to them.
Do it today! What is it in the world that is bothering you? What do you want to see changed?
Everyone thinks that the other guy will get up and do something about it. This is not necessarily so. Stop sitting around waiting for change. It's not coming. Be the change.
Will you be the change?
"Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have."-Margaret Mead
